Koksijde is a little bit tricky when it comes to parking as the rules change depending on the time of the year. Still, you should know that there are plenty of streets where you can park your car for free and with no time restriction.

Parking rules in Koksijde change depending on the time of the year.
This holds for the red, orange and yellow streets displayed on the map.
- During the season (1st June — 30 September ) you have to pay every day of the week, no exception made, from 9am to 7pm.
- During the rest of the year (1st October — 30 May) you only have to pay your parking on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and school holidays, from 9am to 7pm.
Regardless of the season, you are always allowed to park 30 minutes for free in the red, orange and yellow streets. Just don’t forget to take your free ticket at the parking meter.
Note that parking in the green streets is free and with no time restriction. You may also park for free anywhere in Koksijde as from 7pm until 9am.
If you don’t mind paying, you can park in the yellow streets for 5€ per day.
Park in the Shop&Go areas of Koksijde
This tip will be more useful to regular visitors of Koksijde or residents of the city.
Some special parking spots have been put in place where you are allowed to park for a maximum of 30 minutes. They are called the ‘Shop&Go’ spots.
You will see the ‘Shop&Go’ indications that will show you where these parking spots are.
Sensors record your time of arrival and if the time is exceeded, parking agents will get alerted. So make sure to respect the time restrictions!
Plus: on these spots, you don’t need a ticket!
Free parking in Koksijde
Not too far away from the center of the city, you can park for free and with no time limitation.
This holds for all the streets displayed in green on the map.
Here are some of the best tips to park in Koksijde.
When going to the center of the city of Koksijde via Koninklijke Baan, you can park for free in the green section before Kursaallaan as represented on the map.
Getting to Zeelaan from there is just a couple of minutes walking, depending of course on how far away from the center you park.
The sea dyke is very close by.
Horizontlaan is one of the free parking streets situated very close to the center.
Walking from there to the sea dyke will take you roughly 10 minutes.
Around Gulden Vlieslaan you will find plenty of streets where parking is free.
Walking from there to the sea dyke takes approximately 10 minutes.
If you are looking for a large parking space where you can leave your car, you can park it in Kerkplein.
It’s only situated 12 minutes from the sea dyke.
As you can see on the map, you can park around that too.
Although a little bit further than Kerkplein and with a smaller parking space, Marktplein is also a good spot to know when it comes to parking in Koksijde.
Walking from there to the sea dyke take approximately 17 minutes.
